Recent Vehicle Related Deaths on Idaho Roads

Over the weekend the Idaho State Police reported 4 vehicular deaths among 5 separate accidents on Idaho highways. 2 of the deaths happened in Twin Falls County and were single-vehicle accidents where the driver overcorrected and rolled their vehicles.

2 Fatality Accidents In Twin Falls County

The first accident happened in Twin Falls on Saturday evening at 7:43 near 455 Grandview Drive. Idaho State Police are investigating this accident:

A 37-year-old man of Twin Falls was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu southbound on Grandview Drive. He drove off the right shoulder, overcorrected, drove off the left shoulder and the vehicle rolled. The Malibu came to rest in a field. The male was deceased on scene. He was wearing a seatbelt.

The second accident in Twin Falls County happened near Buhl on Highway 30 Sunday night at 9:56. The road was blocked for about 3 and a half hours ISP reports:

A 52-year-old man of Buhl was driving a 1999 Dodge Ram 3500 westbound on US Highway 30. He drove off the right shoulder, over-corrected, drove off the left shoulder and the vehicle rolled. The vehicle came to rest approximately 20 feet off the roadway. The male was deceased on scene. He was not wearing a seat belt.

Motorcycle Fatality Near Eagle Idaho

Sunday morning brought another motorcycle fatality to Idaho’s Deadliest Days of Summer when a bike was hit by an SUV in Ada County.

A 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling eastbound on SH44. A 2015 Nissan Rogue was traveling westbound on SH44 in the turn lane to turn south onto Edgewood Lane. The Nissan failed to yield and struck the motorcycle head-on.
The driver of the motorcycle, a 54-year-old man from Meridian, was not wearing a helmet. He was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Nissan, a 45-year-old man from Saugus, CA, was wearing his seatbelt and was not transported.

Sunday’s motorcycle-related death is the 6th on Idaho highways since Memorial Day.

4 Vehicle Crash Sunday Near Nampa, 2 Transported to Local Hospitals

The largest accident over the weekend in Idaho involved 4 vehicles on I84 near milepost 41 in Ada County. The accident happened Sunday evening at 7:58 with the following vehicles when one of them lost their rear bumper:

A Toyota Camry Solara, driven by a 19-year-old female from Nampa, was traveling eastbound on I84 at a high rate of speed when the vehicle lost its rear bumper. A Mitsubishi SUV, driven by a 45-year-old female from Mountain Home, and a Ford Focus, driven by a 43-year-old female from Boise, ran over the bumper then pulled over to the left shoulder of the roadway. A Kia Soul, driven by a 31-year-old male from Boise, collided with the Mitsubishi.
The driver of the Kia and the driver of the Mitsubishi were transported via ground ambulance to nearby hospitals.

The Interstate was partially blocked for 2 and a half hours and the accident is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
