The summer concert season has only just begun, and we already had the Boise Music Fest at Expo Idaho and Warrant in Jackpot last month. We still have a great lineup of other bands that have been announced, and one of the most iconic and recognizable names on the list is going to be here in a few days.

David Lee Roth, the original front man for Van Halen, is coming to Southern Idaho on July 18th.

OG Van Halen Singer David Lee Roth Coming to Southern Idaho This Month

On the upcoming events list for the Shoshone-Bannock Casino Hotel, David Lee Roth has been announced as a performer on July 18th. Fans of the rap game can check out the Turnt Up Tour on July 16th, featuring Twista, Petey Pablo, and the Ying Yang Twins.

Tickets to see David Lee Roth in Idaho start at $49 for general admission and go up to $79 for the PIT area. If you miss this show, you can pay more money to see him at The Depot in Salt Lake City, Utah, on July 21st.

David Lee Roth led Van Halen from the beginning. As Van Halen rose to fame in the late 70s and early 80’s, Diamond Dave was right at the front of it all with a personality as big as the screaming solos that came out of Eddie Van Halen’s guitars. During the DLR era, we were gifted with Jump, Panama, Running With the Devil, Dance the Night Away, Ain’t Talkin’ Bout Love, and heavy covers of You Really Got Me and Pretty Woman.

When Roth and Van Halen separated in 1985, neither group stopped sending out the hits. As a solo artist, Roth gave us California Girls and Just Like Paradise, while Van Halen took on singer Sammy Hagar and a more polished presentation.

Who do you prefer as a Van Halen front man: Hagar or Roth (we aren’t going to include Gary as an option)?
