
Idaho State Police Have Reported 9 Deadly Accidents in the Last 2 Weeks
It has been a deadly and tragic ending to the month of June and the beginning of July.
Over the last fourteen days, there have been nine fatal accidents reported on Idaho highways, plus over a dozen people injured in vehicle crashes.
9 People Have Been Killed in Vehicle Accidents in Idaho Over the Last 2 Weeks
The Idaho State Police have reported that nine people were killed in the last two weeks across Idaho, with the majority of the deaths happening in Southern Idaho.
Each of the nine accidents claimed one life and resulted in sixteen people injured and sent to hospitals. Those killed and injured in the accidents include people from Idaho, Oregon, Nigeria, and Peru.
According to reports from the Idaho State Police, the accidents happened in Paul, Island Park, Jerome, American Falls, Rigby, Fort Hall, Caldwell, Wendell, and Lewiston. Details on each accident can be found below.
In Just the Last 2 Weeks, These 9 Fatal Accidents Happened in Idaho
These are the accidents that happened in the final week of June and the first week of July, starting with the most recent:
On July 6th, at 11:14 in the morning in Paul, Idaho, the Idaho State Police responded to an accident that killed one person and injured another.
- A 2024 Ram 2500 was traveling west on W 200 N. The driver failed to yield at the stop sign and struck a 1992 Ford Ranger, which was traveling south on N 600 W.
- The driver of the Ram, a 39-year-old man from Paul, was not wearing a seatbelt and was transported by personal vehicle to a local hospital.
- The driver of the Ford, a 55-year-old-man from Paul, was not wearing a seatbelt and succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash.
On July 4th, around 11:45 in the morning, a two-vehicle accident happened on US20 near Island Park. A child died in the crash, and eight people were injured.
- A 40-year-old, from Shelley, was travelling westbound in a 2026 Freightliner semi-truck pulling a semi-trailer.
- A 42-year-old male and passengers from Idaho Falls, were travelling eastbound in a 2011 Toyota Sienna Minivan.
The semi-truck left the road and overcorrected, which caused the truck to cross into oncoming traffic, where it struck the van. The van overturned. The driver of the van, plus four other adults and three juveniles, were sent to a local hospital. The driver of the truck was also taken to a hospital.
A juvenile from the van was killed in the crash.
On July 3rd at 10PM, ISP responded to a crash on US93 north of Jerome that killed one person and injured 3, including a minor child.
- A 2005 Ford Explorer, driven by 27- year-old male from Jerome, was driving southbound on US93. A 2012 Dodge Journey, driven by 20-year-old female out of Peru, with a 41-year-old passenger from Peru, was traveling northbound on US93.
- The Ford Explorer crossed into the northbound lanes and collided with the Dodge Journey.
- The driver and minor passenger of the Dodge Journey were transported by air ambulance, and the other passenger sustained critical injuries and succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the Ford was taken by ambulance to the hospital.
On June 29th, a single-vehicle accident happened around 3:45PM that killed one person east of American Falls on I86.
- A 35-year-old male from Nigeria was traveling eastbound on I86 in a 2001 Ford Explorer. The driver overcorrected, causing the Explorer to roll into the median.
- The driver and two passengers, a 72-year-old female and a 72-year-old male, both from Idaho Falls, Idaho were transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital.
- The 72-year-old male succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
On June 26th, a motorcycle vs semi-truck accident in Wendell killed the driver of the bike.
- A 21-year-old male from Twin Falls was driving northbound on Idaho St in a 1998 Kenworth Semi pulling a trailer.
- A 68-year-old male from Wendell was riding northbound on a Copper 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
- Both vehicles attempted to turn right onto Main St. The motorcycle collided with the passenger side of the semi.
A fatal accident near Rigby happened on June 29th, a few minutes after 1AM.
- A 2025 Kawasaki EX500, driven by a 23-year-old male from Rigby, was traveling westbound on 7800 S and failed to negotiate a curve.
- The rider succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The rider was wearing a helmet.
An accident on June 28th on Highway 95 north of Council killed one person and injured two others.
- A 2008 Ford Focus, driven by a 31-year-old female from Huntington, Oregon, was travelling southbound on Highway 95 on Fort Hall Hill.
- A 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by a 32-year-old male from Nampa, was travelling northbound on Highway 95.
- The Ford Focus was passing a semi-truck and trailer in a no-passing zone when it collided with the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The driver of the Ford was killed in the crash, and the driver of the Jeep and a passenger were injured and taken to the hospital.
On June 27th, Idaho State Police responded to a fatal accident in Caldwell a few minutes before 9AM.
- A 49-year-old female from Caldwell was driving northbound on Farmway Road in a black 1997 Ford Explorer.
- The Ford Explorer went off the right shoulder, overcorrected, crossed the southbound lane of travel, and rolled into a nearby field.
The driver passed away at the scene of the accident.
On June 23rd, a single-vehicle crash south of Lewiston happened around 8:30PM.
- A Toyota 4runner SUV, driven by a 18-year-old female from Lewiston, Idaho, was traveling northbound on Waha Rd.
- The driver left the roadway, went into a ditch and rolled.
The driver was taken to a local hospital and later passed away from her injuries. She was not wearing a seatbelt, and drugs and alcohol are believed to have been a factor in the accident.

Each of the accidents is being investigated by the Idaho State Police.
