Hiking is an interesting hobby because it means something different depending on who you ask. My wife says a walk counts as a hike as long as it isn’t in the city. For me, you have to be scrambling and rising in elevation with a specific destination.
No matter the level of difficulty, it’s important to be safe when hiking. These 10 tips and warnings will help you on your next hike, and since ‘hiking’ can mean a variety of things, the first tip is key.

I have a family trip coming up in June to Southern Utah, and I plan on hiking as much as I can through the canyons and red rock formations.
We did a trip when I was a kid through The Subway, and part of our group got lost. The 7th tip on the list to let someone know where you plan on going was key in finding them and getting them back to camp safely.
