Somehow we missed this crazy and amazing story in the news last year in Idaho.

Two detectives driving on an Idaho highway noticed an issue with a driver that was placing the driver and others in danger. How they remedied the situation was brilliant and saved at least 1 life that day.

The Story You Never Heard: How 2 Idaho Detectives Saved a Life in 2024

We are learning about this miracle today due to a press release from the Idaho State Police. ISP revealed the names of the 2 detectives and what led to their heroic actions and earning of the prestigious Life Saving Award.

The heroic detectives are Chris Pohanka and Jamie Wood. On October 16th, 2024 the 2 were driving west on I84 in Boise when they noted a vehicle driving erratically. Wood realized that the driver was unconscious behind the wheel and Pohanka took action.

The detectives maneuvered their vehicle to in front of the unconscious driver to slow their vehicle and control the stopping of the other car. They were able to guide the car and driver safely into the highway median where they began to administer first aid until paramedics could arrive.

Their actions saved the life of the impaired driver but also countless others who could have been harmed had the unconscious driver caused an accident.
