Idaho is in for a variety of weather fluctuations over the weekend.

Depending on where you live or if you plan to travel, you could see anything from powerful winds, to red flag fire conditions, to winter weather and significant temperature drops.

This all comes at us after a beautiful week of weather, and it starts today.

One of the biggest issues across Southern Idaho will be the wind. From Western Idaho to Eastern Idaho there are Wind Advisories warning of gusts up to 55 miles per hour, Red Flag Warnings for increased fire dangers, and if you head to higher elevations you could be part of the Winter Weather Advisory where up to 4 inches of snow could fall.

The wind is also stirring up a lot of dust and creating a haze that could create dangerous driving conditions and limited visibility. And as always in Idaho, if your trampoline isn’t staked to the ground you’ll have to go look for it in another yard when this is over.

The wind will be an issue pretty much everywhere. Twin Falls, Cassia County, and Pocatello all have Wind Advisories in effect until late Friday night.

Cassia County also has a Red Flag Warning in effect until 10 PM on Friday. Wind and low humidity will make fire dangers worse.

In Eastern Idaho and Western Montana mountains, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from Saturday into Sunday. Wind gusts up to 30 miles per hour are expected and 4 inches of snow could drop on elevations above 6,000 feet.

In all cases, extra caution while driving is advised.
