Innocent Driver Injured Due to Reckless Driving on Idaho Highway
ISP encountered the SUV near Hayden while the trooper was stopped at a red light intersection. The Idaho State Police report states the following about the crash that followed:
As the trooper pulled up to the red light northbound on US 95 at Hayden, he saw the speeding Honda southbound approaching Hayden at a high rate of speed. Eastbound traffic had a green light and started to enter the intersection. The driver of the Honda ran the red light and caused a t-bone crash with a silver Subaru Legacy.
The Subaru came to rest blocking the southbound lanes of travel. The Honda crossed the median, nearly striking the responding trooper and rolled. It came to rest on the bike path between US 95 and Super 1 Foods.
The trooper and a Kootenai County deputy who was at the scene administered first aid to occupants of the vehicles.

ISP will investigate the accident and hope to determine why the SUV was driving at such high speeds.
This was not a police pursuit. The Honda was driving recklessly of their own unprovoked choice. The driver was booked for Aggravated Reckless Driving.
NOTE: The original ISP report said the driver of the Subaru had been booked instead of the Honda driver.
