In two separate instances, but within a few hours of each other, male pedestrians walking along Idaho highways in the lanes of travel were hit by cars. Neither incident report is clear about the reason the men were walking on the highway when they were hit.

The Idaho State Police recently reported these accidents on their news release page.

ISP Reported 2 Pedestrians Were Hit Within Hours of Each Other on Idaho Highways

The first pedestrian vs car accident happened on Sunday morning on I84 in Meridian and less than 24 hours later, on Monday morning, another pedestrian was hit by a car on US95 in Nez Perce County near the Washington border.

Both pedestrians were male and reportedly walking in the lanes of travel. One of the pedestrians is in critical condition and the other was transported with non-life-threatening injuries. Details on the incidents are shared below and Idaho State Police are investigating the accidents.

On Sunday, July 12th, ISP responded to an accident between a 76-year-old male pedestrian and a 2013 Nissan 370Z driven by a 19-year-old male. The accident happened on I84 in Meridian near mile marker 45 around 2:37 AM.

The report alleges that the elderly male pedestrian was walking westbound on I-84 in the far-right lane when he was struck. He was taken to a local hospital by ground ambulance in critical condition.

Then, on Monday morning, July 13th, around 12:13 AM, ISP troopers responded to a 43-year-old male pedestrian who had been hit by a 1994 Honda Accord driven by a 26-year-old male. The crash happened on US95 near mile marker 307.

In the ISP report, it says the pedestrian was walking in the northbound lanes of US 95 near milepost 307. The pedestrian was then struck by a 1994 Honda Accord that had just merged onto the highway from Nez Perce Rd. The pedestrian was taken by ground ambulance to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle drivers in each accident were wearing seatbelts and were not injured in the accidents.
