Police Investigate Suspicious Man and Gun Found at Idaho School
A middle school in Southern Idaho was the focal point for police on Friday afternoon as 2 separate scary incidents happened on the campus.
The school security was elevated to a ‘Secure Campus’ when a suspicious individual was seen in a parking lot. Later, police found a gun in the backpack of a student.
Police believe the incidents are not related.
The Hailey Police Department initially went to the Wood River Middle School to check on a suspicious male in the south parking lot of the school. Police attempted to get the man, 32-year-old Fidel Ruiz-Ramos, to leave. Fidel refused to leave, was issued a warning for trespassing, still refused to leave, and was arrested. He could receive a fine of up to $1,000 and up to a year in jail for obstructing officers.
All those events happened in just over a half an hour of time, from 8:37AM to 9:08AM when the school was taken out of ‘Secure Campus’ status.
