2006 Idaho ‘Scream Murder’ Case Now A Streaming Documentary

In the late summer of 2006 two southern Idaho high school students committed an unspeakable crime against an unsuspecting 16-year-old who was pet sitting for relatives. The brutal murder case has been developed into a new documentary airing on the HULU streaming channel.

The case is referred to in the pop culture community as the 'Scream Murder,' and took place in the southeast Idaho community of Pocatello on the evening of September 22, a few months shy of 20 years ago. HULU has produced a multiple episode special based on the murder.

Two Pocatello High School students, Brian Lee Draper and Torey Michael Adamcik were ultimately found guilty of the 'thrill kill' death of their acquaintance and fellow student Cassie Jo Stoddart. The two perpetrators were inspired to follow through with the murder, in which Stoddart was stabbed a reported 30 times, by the film Scream, according to Heaven Horror.

Southern Idaho 2006 Teen Homicide Dubbed 'Scream Murder' Gets HULU Documentary

The Scream horror franchise centers around a serial murderer nicknamed 'Ghost Face,' who targets students and faculty in a small, rural community. A 'thrill kill' is a term given to a homicide that's committed solely to satisfy a craving or out of curiosity.

The two teens were both given life sentences for their crimes without the possibility of parole, and are currently serving time in a southern Idaho prison.
