For the first time in over eight months, the Magic Valley will experience temperatures over 90 degrees this weekend. Saturday is expected to be the hottest day, before things cool off by the start of the work week.

With about three weeks to go until summer begins, it's time to start checking air conditioning units, filling up above ground pools, stocking up on sunscreen, and making sure plenty of water is around for staying hydrated.

The average temperature for Twin Falls in June is 80 degrees, according to Weather Spark. On the final day of May, it will be more than 10 degrees warmer than that average if current forecasts ring true. Northern and central Utah will also see temperatures climbing into the nineties.

Saturday the forecast is calling for a high of 97 degrees in Twin Falls, according to Weather.com. This is well above the average temperature for the region this early in the year. June's first weekend will average a high of 89 degrees for much of Southern Idaho as Sunday's temperature is expected to drop dramatically down into the low 80s.

July and August are typically the warmest months in the Magic Valley, with averages of 89 degrees (July)  and 87 degrees (August). Pets, children, and seniors are also susceptible to health problems associated with heatwaves and major temperature spikes. It's vital that people stay hydrated when the weather takes a warmer turn.

Southern Idaho temperatures are expected to drop back down into the seventies by Monday. Stay cool this weekend, Idaho!
