Southern Idaho is known for many things. Amazing BASE jumping, incredible waterfalls, some of the tallest dunes in North America, and a 2004 Jon Heder film that put the small community of Preston on the map for good are just a couple of examples.

If I could have voted for Pedro, I would have. Unfortunately, the iconic characters from the now 20-year-old film Napoleon Dynamite don't really wander the halls of Preston High School eating tater tots out of their pant pockets. The Gem State locations where the cast roamed do exist, and for die-hard fans of the movie, we have got a hold of a filming location map that would make for the ultimate tour just 180 miles southeast of Twin Falls.

Napoleon Dynamite has already reached cult classic status, and it's beloved by not just Idahoans but movie fans throughout the world. It's a classic nerd versus the socially superior kind of movie, and reminiscent of the 1982 film Fast Times at Ridgemont High, except the characters are much more likable.

The goIdahoofficail Instagram page posted a complete list of the main filming spots through southeast Idaho, including addresses. The high school, the main character's real Idaho homes, downtown businesses, and the bowling alley are just a few landmarks featured on the Instagram page.

Fans of Napoleon Dynamite should put this tour on their summer to-do list. Just remember, people actually live and work in these homes and businesses, so be respectful when visiting.
