The soldiers of the 391st Engineer Company are back in Idaho after returning Saturday from a tour in Iraq. They have a rare perspective on the war, and hope the work they did there doesn't go to waste.

The men and women of the 391st Engineer Company spent a year in Iraq, clearing roadside bombs and preventing ambushes.   Now, with the war ending in less than two months, these soldiers have a good idea of what the country will look like when all U.S. forces leave. They say the future can be bright, but it's out of their hands now. There are still thousands of U.S. troops in Iraq. But the plan is to have all of them home by the end of the year.
