When you're struggling to get a job sometimes transportation can be the biggest hurdle. That's why it's so cool to hear about Lyft the ride sharing service is working to help people get to job interviews and to work when starting a new job.

Their Jobs Access Program is a partnership with the National Down Syndrome Society and United Way and others with a goal "to close the transportation gap in low-income communities."

This new program will offer free or discounted rides to job interviews and to the first three weeks of employment at a new job in 35 cities in the U.S. and Canada. As you can imagine, if the program is a success there it will expand.

If you're looking for more information on the program click here to visit the Lyft blog with all the information being released at this time. What a great idea to help people when they are trying to work toward a better life.
