Nonprofit will Unveil Donor List

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A nonprofit group fighting to conceal donors whose money paid for TV ads promoting public schools chief Tom Luna's education overhaul now says it will reveal their identities. Debbie Field, who late Tuesday filed paperwork listing her as chairman of Education Voters of Idaho, says the group will disclose its contributors and expenditures by 3 p.m. on Wednesday. EVI gave $200,000 that went to the TV ads, but until now maintained it wasn't a political committee with disclosure obligations. That prompted Secretary of State Ben Ysursa to file a lawsuit. On Monday, 4th District Judge Michael Wetherell ruled EVI was a PAC with the obligation to disclose its campaign finance activity under Idaho's Sunshine act. Field said her group was disappointed with Wetherell's ruling, but planned to follow his order.
