Black Bears

The danger isn’t only to you.

One such animal was spotted recently in a place it is not commonly seen and it has put an Idaho town on notice.

A black bear is usually shy but curious.

You wouldn’t want to surprise those burglars!

Black bears have come out a little earlier than usual in the Wood River Valley area and have found some easy meals that have wildlife managers concerned. The Idaho Department of Fish and Game said bears have already gotten into several trash bins and raided bird feeders in areas south of Ketchum.

Wildlife officials are urging hunters to use caution in a couple of hunting units due to grizzly bear activity in the area, a place where grizzly bears are not usually located.

Idaho’s spring black bear season opens today, April 1, in a number of units across the state.
