A preliminary NTSB report has been released regarding the crash of the Lancair experimental aircraft that killed Micron CEO Steve Appleton in Boise last Friday.  This is only a preliminary report. The full report could take several months.  There is still no definite cause on why the plane crashed.  Read about the preliminary report here.

Meanwhile, friends and loved ones of Micron CEO Steve Appleton paid their last respects yesterday to one of the most influential men Idaho has known in a long time.  Appleton was laid to rest at the Dry Creek Cemetery near Boise.  Appleton was killed last Friday after the Lancair plane he was piloting crashed just after takeoff at the Boise airport.  More than 100 of Appleton's closest family and friends gathered around the final resting place.  The service included a flyover of one of Appleton’s own jet airplanes and a missing man formation performed by four single-engine aircraft.  Memorial funds have  been established in his name with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Boise State University Foundation.  A public memorial service for Appleton will be held later this month, February 23rd at 10 a.m. at Taco Bell Arena on the Boise State University campus.
