SHOSHONE, Idaho (KLIX) The Craters of the Moon National Monument will host a series of open houses on their plans for grazing in the area.

The first of the two open houses will be held in American Falls on Thursday, the other will be held at in Carey on November 16. Staff with the monument will answer questions on the draft plan and it's amendments. Officials say the preferred alternative would set 273,600 for grazing. You can find the draft management plan at this LINK. Limited copies will be made available at the meetings.

  • Thursday, Nov. 3 from 4-7 p.m. at the American Falls District Library located at 308 Roosevelt Street
  • Nov. 16 from 4-7 p.m. at the Carey City Council office, 20482 N. Main Street.

Comments on the draft EIS will be accepted until the close of business on Dec. 29, 2016.  Please send written comments by mail, fax or e-mail to one of the following addresses.
