DC Police Look For Idaho Man
Police in Washington D.C. are looking for a man with ties to Idaho who fired off a gun near the White House late Friday evening. 21 year old Oscar Ramiro Ortega from Idaho Falls is being charged with carrying a dangerous weapon. U.S. Park Police believe Ortega was involved in firing off shots on Constitution Avenue. The shots prompted a full investigation and the blocking off of many nearby streets on Veterans Day. U.S. Park Police Sergeant David Schlosser said officers recovered an abandoned vehicle linked to Ortega. Witnesses said the driver jumped out of the car and ran across the Roosevelt Bridge into Virginia. A rifle was recovered from that vehicle. Police Sergeant David Schlosser says police have no motive for the shooting so far. Ortega has several tattoos, including one on the left side of his neck that says "Israel." He is 5' 8" and weighs 160 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to call U.S. Park Police at (202) 610-7500 or the Criminal Investigations Branch Tip Line at (202) 610-8737.
