Most animals rarely look directly at the sun

While I’m away my cat, Tucker, likes to spend his time looking out the windows.  Will this harm his eyesight?  You could buy your pet eclipse goggles, but good luck in convincing Fido to keep them on.

A writer at People Magazine suggests the glasses are fine if you’re taking pets along for observation.  Otherwise, this isn’t much of an issue.  Most animals rarely look directly at the sun.  The animals in the wild have survived far worse than an eclipse and so will your dog or cat.
