The Post Register reports Mark Later pleaded guilty Wednesday to injuring another by careless handling and discharge of firearms. Later acknowledged shooting Korby Hansen with a .12-gauge shotgun while both men were hunting in Madison County in October. The incident left Hansen in a coma for weeks and causing him to lose a lung and most of the use of his right arm. Magistrate Judge Mark Rammell sentenced Later to two years of supervised probation and 30 days in jail. Later can cut his jail time in half if he passes a hunter-education course and speaks about his experience to hunter-education classes. Restitution has not been determined.
