BELLEVUE, Idaho (KLIX) – A wildfire closed a portion of a state highway for period of time Thursday afternoon in the Wood River Valley.

Highway 75 between Shoshone and the Timmerman Rest Area, about eight miles south of Bellevue, closed Thursday afternoon while fire crews worked the area, according to the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post this afternoon: “The road is blocked. Look out for a brush fire.”

By 5 p.m., however, the sheriff's office said the road was again open. "Please be alert for crews working on the road sides," the later post read. "Thank you for your patience."
