Hailey Police: No Legitimate Threat at Wood River School
Authorities in the Wood River Valley say a threat at a high school reportedly found on social media involving a gun was not legitimate.
In a notice to the community the Hailey Police Department was made aware of a possible threat on social media of a 15-year-old Wood River High School student holding what appeared to a revolver on Tuesday evening. After an investigation, with help from the Blaine County Sheriff's Office, authorities determined the gun was an airsoft and belonged to another 16-year-old student at the high school.
Police said the parents of both teens cooperated with the investigation. Despite it not being a legitimate threat, an increase presence of officers have been posted at the school this morning.
