Idaho firefighters are on the front-lines in Texas this morning, helping to battle one of the worst blazes in Texas history. Officials asked for help from around the country and a request came through the Boise Interagency Dispatch Center. On Monday, the Boise National Forest sent ten of its firefighters and two of its engines. Bob Shindelar of the Boise National Forest says the the firefighter's and  equipment are a much needed asset.  The Idaho firefighters are in Bastrop County, Texas. It’s an area in which hundreds of homes have been destroyed and evacuations are ongoing. They will be there for about two weeks.
