It isn't the news that you want to see in the Treasure Valley--or anywhere--but it's the news we should all be aware of.

Just this week, federal agents from the Department of Homeland Security as well as local agents here with our own Ada County Sheriff's Office partnered in a major and scary takedown--serious sex crimes.

The suspect who is now in custody is 31-year-old Eric Perez.

The takedown was enough for the Idaho Attorney General, Raul Labrador, to speak up:

It’s a difficult task and it takes a toll on the staff who are so dedicated to the safety of Idaho’s kids but everyone on our ICAC team is committed to stopping the cycle of exploitation and removing these abusers from our communities.

It's important to note that until Perez is proven guilty in a court of law, he is indeed innocent.

Less than one year ago, local authorities made a major sting operation for a group of individuals who were committing se crimes here in our community.

While it's easy to recognize and know how safe we are in Boise, it's important to remember that we aren't immune to being impacted by these gross individuals that are putting children in harms way!

Now more than ever, web safety for children and families is crucial. Make sure that your family has a plan on safety when it comes to internet access and online safety.

Boise Police Arrest 11 in Secret Operation

Here in the Treasure Valley, we aren't used to seeing large groups of arrests or frankly, any serious crimes. On Tuesday, September 21st, however, the Boise Police Department hauled in 11 arrests in one successful "sting" operation.
