60 Hrs To Fight Hunger Returns To Twin Falls To Help People In Need
One of the best fundraisers of the year is coming back for another opportunity to help tons of families in the Magic Valley in need over the holiday season. 60 Hours to Fight Hunger is back and you can help make the event a huge success.
60 Hours To Fight Hunger Is Back
From November 17th through November 19th, you can help South Central Community Action Partnership collect turkeys and Thanksgiving sides to give to people in the community in need. The event starts at noon on November 17th and wraps up at 10 pm on November 19th. Each year the goal increases and they are hoping to get over two thousand turkeys donated this year. I swear it is something that can be done.
Where To Go To Donate Turkeys And More
There are a few different drop-off locations. You can go to Rob Green Buick/GMC at 1427 Blue Lakes or you can go to Smith's on Saturday from 9 am until 4 pm. They will have a truck ready to store turkeys at that location.
What To Donate
You can donate turkeys of course, but because not everyone can get a turkey and rumors of a turkey shortage, they are also hoping to get hams, roasts, and other holiday proteins. If you can't donate meat of some sort, they are also accepting non-expired canned foods and other sides that go with Thanksgiving dinner. Canned green beans, cranberry sauce, and gravy, just to name a few. They will take anything you decide to donate. Just make sure nothing is expired.
Where the Food Goes
South Central Community Action Partnership will take all the turkeys and extras back to their office where they are going to make dinner boxes. If you are someone that needs one of these boxes, you can contact South Central Community Action Partnership. You can call Randy Wastradowsky at 208-733-9351 ext 1010 or email him at randy@sccap-id.org No one should go hungry ever, let alone during the holidays.
