Another month has come to an end as we say goodbye to July and hello to August. This is the month that college football will return, school will start, and summer vacation will end. For anybody who has never been to one, this weekend is your chance to see what all of the hype is about. Opposites Attract: Fire and Ice Drag Show is happening this Friday at Whiskey Creek Saloon and Grill, located at 1749 Kimberly Road. The Magic Valley has many farmer's markets that take place every weekend, but one that you must attend at least once during the summer is the Market on Main. It offers a unique environment, being located on Main Street in downtown Twin Falls. This gives you a chance to enjoy the market and check out all the vendors, while also shopping at the stores downtown, and perhaps grabbing lunch as well. It is the weekend that all the nerds in the Magic Valley have been waiting for, the first-ever Magic Valley Comic Con is here. The event will be happening both Saturday and Sunday and will be taking place at the Magic Valley Mall. There will be Q&A sessions, games, comic books, celebrity guests, costumes, and so much more. Make sure to dress up and head to the mall. There will be multiple stages, so you will have to plan your schedule accordingly to try and get to everything you can. For anyone who loves cars or a good time, Castleford is where you want to be this weekend. They will be hosting their annual car show on Saturday, starting at noon, but anyone who has been before knows that it is not just a car show. The show will last until 6:30 PM, but at 7 PM the street dance will begin. For anyone who enjoys beer, this weekend is one you have had circled on the calendar for months. The 13th annual Magic Valley Beer Festival returns this weekend, and it will be happening at Twin Falls City Park. Tickets are $30 in advance and $40 at the gate, and you can purchase $20 designated driver tickets if you need a ride home after the event. There will be over 150 different types of beers this year and it all starts at 1 PM on Saturday. There will be live music, silent auctions, raffles, food, and of course beer. It might not be Taylor Swift, but this weekend there will be a candlelight concert that will be dedicated to Taylor Swift.
