Review: Is New Wingstop in Twin Falls Worth a Try?
Twin Falls has seen many new businesses and restaurants move in over the last few years, and some have packed up and moved on already, while others continue to stick around and become a part of the community. Some places fit the culture and are welcomed additions, while others don't stick as long as many thought they would. When a new place opens, there is typically a bunch of hype, and the place is crowded for the first few weeks to a month. What happens after the newness has worn off though? One of the newest additions to the Magic Valley is Wingstop, and they currently are in the honeymoon phase, but are they worth the hype and will they stick around?
How is Wingstop in Twin Falls?
This past weekend, my family and I stopped by the new Wingstop in Twin Falls, which is located at 118 Cheney Drive and opened on June 3. With only being opened a couple of weeks, we anticipated it being a little crowded, but what we got was more than we expected. We went to order our food around 9:45 PM on Friday night and had to wait about 10 minutes to order our food, and about 30 minutes to get the food. Overall, 40 minutes to get some wings seems like a lot, but there are a few reasons for this. One, the place is still new, and residents of Twin Falls want to try it out. This is to be expected. Two, it was later in the evening, and Twin Falls typically closes down a little early, leaving fewer options at that time of night. There aren't many places in Twin Falls that offer wings, without being a sit-down restaurant, and being able to get them and go home is an appealing option.
Is Wingstop in Twin Falls Any Good?
While the wait may have been a bit, the real question is, was it worth it? The wings were delicious, the fries were amazing, and the only issue we had with the meal was the vegetables weren't the best, but that was ok with us since it wasn't why we went. We decided to keep it simple and safe and went with Hawaiian, garlic parmesan, and hickory smoked BBQ. These are some of the mildest sauces you can get, and each offers a delicious flavor to the boneless wings. The hickory smoked BBQ had a little kick, as it is rated spicier than the other two. The next time we may try for spicier. If you are more daring, they offer many options with more of a kick, or if you like wings without a kick, I recommend the route we went this time. The garlic fries, are the perfect side and pair well with any wings you choose to get.
My overall opinion is that Wingstop is a welcomed addition to Twin Falls and likely will be sticking around for awhile. It is recommended to wait a few more weeks, to let the newness fade away, and see if the wait lessens. Finding the right time to go can be tough, but not going on Friday night and going before 5 PM, would likely lessen your wait. The food is good and is something that Twin Falls has been missing.
