When it comes to education, Idaho is not known to be near the top, but is it as bad as many think? What state offers the best education, which offers the worst and where does Idaho rank on the list?

WalletHub recently released a list ranking the best and worst states for education and used categories such as educational attainment, and quality of education to help determine the best states. Using these criteria, it was determined that Massachusetts is the state that offers the best education, with Maryland second, and Connecticut third. The worst state to live in for education is West Virginia, with Mississippi being the second worst, and Louisiana rounding out the bottom three.

Does Idaho Offer a Good Education?

When it comes to education in Idaho, it is already common knowledge that it is not the best in the country, but how bad is it? According to the list, Idaho ranks 36 in terms of education. Idaho is 34 in educational attainment and 32 in quality of education. To make matters a little worse, Idaho is the fifth worst state in average university quality. While not as bad as it could be, the state is still lacking in education.

Idaho will never be able to compare to some of the states back East, but it doesn't need to. As long as Idaho can creep up the list in the coming years and eventually get into the top half of the states, then it will be doing just fine. So long as Idaho isn't in the bottom ten, then it should be considered a win. Investing in your child's education at home will help offset any educational disadvantages as well. While this list may not do us any favors, it doesn't mean the people of Idaho are dumb by any means.
