October arrives on Thursday. It's only been a few days of fall, and photos of Idaho's South Hills are already popping up on social media, with area residents commenting that they're planning a road trip to see the changing colors for themselves.

Located southeast of Twin Falls, this region of Idaho is a popular spot for camping, hiking, biking, and family day trips for locals who want a taste of nature within a 90-minute drive.

Landmarks such as Lake Cleveland--16 miles southeast of Albion--are included in this part of the state. Some people refer to the area as 'The Albion Hills.'

I happened upon the Magic Valley Camera Club page this week and saw some beautiful photographs shared by a local that made me want to change my weekend plans and head out there. Early fall begins the pilgrimage for many area residents to the South Hills, and it continues into late December, as the area is a hotspot for Christmas trees.

Judging by the pictures shared on the MVCC page, you'll want to bring chairs and plan on staying a while. Oh yeah, and don't even think of leaving your camera at home.
