
Should Idaho Entertain Decriminalizing Magic Mushrooms?
When many people think of magic mushrooms they have visions of a couple of hippies sitting around a coffee table, wide-eyed, and watching Pink Floyd's The Wall or old episodes of The Ren & Stimpy Show.

The topic of medical marijuana is a major discussion generator in Idaho presently. There's a push to have the Medical Cannabis Act added on the November ballot, but there are still many Gem State residents who oppose the idea and believe such a plan would invite crime and turn Boise into another Portland.

More States Are Looking Into Decriminalizing Magic Mushrooms For The Treatment Of Ailments Such As Depression
Unlike marijuana, Psilocybin has powerful, hallucinatory effects on users, which can release large amounts of dopamine resulting in feelings of pleasure and euphoria. Many in the scientific and healthcare community believe these alterations of brain chemistry can help people suffering from depression, Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other mental illnesses lead a better quality of life.

There are currently multiple states that have either decriminalized magic mushrooms, or outright legalized them. Use of Psilocybin is legal in Oregon, and in Washington, California, Colorado, Michigan, and Massachusetts medical use is permitted in certain counties, according to Scientific American.
