OPENING: New Restaurant in Gooding Fills Culinary Gap

A new restaurant is set to open its doors in Gooding, Idaho, bringing fresh culinary options to the community. Main Street 1908, is located at 227 Main Street and is days away from opening.

History: New Life to a Heritage Location

Main Street 1908 will breathe new life into a heritage location in Gooding. The new restaurant occupies what was formerly home to Pickles Bar & Grill and, before that, Rowdy’s Bar and Grill. The owners, Cam and Mandi Carrico, have remodeled the space to create a welcoming and family-friendly environment while preserving the hometown feel that Gooding residents cherish.

Filling the American Food Gap

Gooding is known for its variety of fantastic restaurants, but until now, it lacked an American steak and burger joint outside of fast food options. Pickles did a respectable job of towing that line, but when they shuttered, they left a noticeable void. Main Street 1908 aims to remedy that by offering high-quality steaks and burgers in a classy but down-home atmosphere. 

Menu and Ambiance

The menu features a variety of steaks, burgers, sandwiches, and salads, ensuring that there’s something for everyone. The restaurant is designed to be family-friendly, with a clean and comfortable setting. Despite its higher-end feel, the restaurant wants to maintain a casual and welcoming vibe, making it a perfect spot for everything from a business meeting to a family dinner. You can expect Main Street 1908 to cater to both local farmers and ranchers, as well as the business crowd, creating a classy yet attainable dining experience.

Entertainment and Amenities

In addition to great food, the restaurant features an outdoor patio that seats about 20 people. Plans are in the works to host evening and weekend music and entertainment. Inside, the restaurant is equipped with multiple TVs that will show sports and games, providing a lively atmosphere for fans to enjoy a meal and catch their favorite teams in action. While I hesitate to draw exact parallels, 1908 will likely remind you of some popular Twin Falls area pubs with a similar vibe.

Employment and Community Impact

Main Street 1908 is currently hiring and training staff. Recent test runs for friends and family have been a huge success, with early feedback raving about the food and service. Cam and Mandi Carrico emphasize the importance of bringing something new and exciting to Gooding for both locals and residents from Southern Idaho and the greater Twin Falls area to enjoy. 

Grand Opening Plans

Soft opening and friends & family events aside, Main Street 1908 plans to officially open its doors the week of July 15. 

Hours of Operation

The restaurant's tentative hours are:

• Monday to Wednesday: 11 AM to 9 PM
• Thursday to Saturday: 11 AM to 10 PM
• Sunday: 11 AM to 8 PM

These hours are subject to change as the restaurant finalizes its schedule based on community needs and feedback.
