Is Spending the 4th of July in Idaho a Good or Bad Idea?

One of the best days of summer is fast approaching, and how and where to spend it can often be a dilemma. Some families have Fourth of July traditions they like to repeat every year, while others like to take a vacation or spend it on a whim each year. There are some amazing places to spend the holiday, but where is the best city to spend it, which cities should you avoid, and is Idaho a good or bad place to enjoy the Fourth?

The Best and Worst Cities to Celebrate the 4th of July

WalletHub recently released a list of the best and worst cities to be in for the 4th of July and to determine these cities, they used categories such as Fourth of July celebrations, affordability, attractions and activities, safety and accessibility, and Fourth of July weather. Using this criteria, it was determined that Los Angeles is the best place to spend the holiday, with San Francisco being second, and New York City being third. Out of a possible 100 cities, it was determined that Birmingham, Alabama is the worst place to spend the holiday, with Winston-Salem being the second worst, and Durham, North Carolina rounding out the bottom three. 

Is Idaho a Good Place to Spend the 4th of July

Boise is the only city from Idaho to make the list, and fell almost exactly in the middle, ranking 47 on the list. Bose ranks 86 in Fourth of July celebrations, 46 in affordability, 60 in attractions and activities, 23 in safety and accessibility, and number 1 in the weather for the holiday. Many Idahoans, might be surprised to see weather as a strong category, but considering much of the country is in triple digits this time of year, it shouldn't be that surprising. This list doesn't make Boise sound that appealing for the holiday, but there are way worse options.

While Idaho might not be the best place to spend the holiday, it also isn't the worst. Whatever your traditions are, enjoy them, and continue them, as being home is often the place to be for a holiday, especially when celebrating your independence.
