Spoke & Wheel closes shop after countless years.
The Spoke & Wheel was a long-standing bike shop on Addison in Twin Falls. Fondly remembered for its friendly staff and stellar service, my family and I have purchased at least five or more bikes there over the last 30 years. Spoke and Wheel has since closed and consolidated its inventory and operations to Epic Ride Cyclery on Kimberly RD in Twin Falls.
A fresh start for a mom-and-pop Twin Falls area business.
Recently, a new business has planted roots at the former Addison Ave bike shop to breathe new life into the vacant location.
SWS Herbs (Silent Warrior Super Herbs) is a holistic wellness and herb shop that’s been operating in Twin Falls for a few years now. What began as an online service, and a few years ago grew into a brick-and-mortar in the complex by Anchor Bistro on Blue Lakes in Twin. Following a setback caused by a fire at the Blue Lakes location, SWS Herbs recently moved into their current place on Addison Avenue.
Early inspiration and beginnings of SWS Herbs
Owners Kelly and Nikki Mortensen first became interested in holistic wellness following a cancer diagnosis. While suffering symptoms from the disease and treatment side effects, Nikki turned to herbal remedies to help contend with side effects and manage pain. Since then, the couple has devoted their lives to studying and passing along their knowledge to others, while selling herbs and other natural remedies in their Twill Falls shop.
Products sold at SWS Herbs
SWS in a holistic herb and wellness store. They sell herbs and spices that boast natural health benefits. You’ll find everything from anti-inflammatory roots like ginger and turmeric to herbs, spices, and teas. SWS also carries essential oils, bath and beauty products, and aromatherapy. SWS provides educational materials about the goods they sell; and they have plans to host workshops in the near future, including classes that will teach how to source herbal remedies from plants growing in your own yard and garden.
Holistic outlook on health and wellness
It’s important to note that while The Mortensens are passionate believers in holistic wellness, they encourage customers to do their own research, seek professional medical advice for health issues, and consider their products as possible supplements to a comprehensive health and wellness plan. While they’re thrilled to share their knowledge of the beneficial products they sell, they don’t give medical advice. In other words, always consult your physician.
