Fast Food Chains that Started in California
While many fast food places started across the county, there is a decent amount that started in California. It is well known that Jack in the Box began in San Diego. Many other fast food joints started in Southern California as well, such as McDonald's, In-N-Out, Carl's Jr, Del Taco, Panda Express, and Taco Bell. Anytime you eat at these places you can take some state pride in knowing that they began on the West Coast. While these are some of the most popular chains, there are others that many enjoy that didn't start in the Golden State.
Where Fast Food Chains in California Came From
One of the most popular choices in California is Chipotle, and despite what many think, it did not start in California. It originated in Colorado. Another one that many do not know, because of the name, is that KFC is not from Kentucky, but started in Utah. Burger King began in Florida, Sonic's home is in Oklahoma, and Arby's is from Ohio. One of the more interesting ones is that Hardees is from North Carolina, which many would think Carl's Jr and Hardees would be from the same place, but are in fact from different coasts.
