The winter continues, and the weather fluctuates from week to week and day to day. Most days this winter have been in the high 30s or low 40s but can be followed by snow or a random drop into the 20s. The winter weather brings the advantages of snowboarding and skiing season, snowball fights, warm fires in the home, and no bugs. While winter can drag into May sometimes in Idaho, the way this year is going, the weather will be warmer sooner than later, and the peace that many of us have been experiencing will be over.

As the weather gets a little warmer little by little, the bugs will begin to emerge from their slumber, the peace and quiet away from flies will end, and the creepy spiders will emerge once more. With the mild winter, flies and wasps have emerged sporadically through the season, which means once the weather rises consistently that they will come out in swarms. The silence and lack of buzzing through the winter are nice, and it doesn't take long for them to annoy us all.

If you have recently moved to Idaho and have not experienced the bugs here, you are in for a fun surprise. Once the weather warms up, flies will take over your home, the creepiest spiders will rest in the corner of rooms watching your every move, and the wasps and yellow jackets will begin to attack. While these creepy crawlers and flying nuisances haven't fully emerged yet, use the time now to your advantage. Call pest control to come out and spray. Even though the bugs aren't out in full swing, they can set a barrier up around the home and the walls, which will help eliminate many of the bugs as they awake from their winter slumber.

Enjoy the quiet and the peace for now, because soon the buzzing and smacking against windows from flies will be back, the webs in the corner and spiders crawling all over your homes will return, and the fear of being stung when going outside will have you second guessing decisions. While the warm weather will be appreciated, what comes with it, is not. Prepare accordingly, and enjoy the time now, cause the peace of being bug-free is coming to an end soon.
