Christmas is coming, and it’s supposed to be a time of joy, but it really does come with a high level of stress. Along with the holiday celebrations, meals, decorating, and church services, you have to get gifts for your friends and family.

Or worse, you don’t want to get them something that will hurt or kill them. According to the stats from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, 2025 has had more recalled items (357 products so far) than any other year in the last decade. Many of those recalled products are toys, electronics, and children's clothing items. These would all be very bad Christmas gifts to give to your loved ones.

Products get recalled for a variety of reasons, but the main concern over the last 5 years has been fire hazard in 364 items and burn hazard in 317 products. The third most common recall hazard also has to do with fire and burns; heat-related explosion was the recall reason in 224 products.
If you already purchased one of the recalled items, follow the safety guidelines for returning, replacing, or repairing the item.
Toys and electronics aren’t the only items that get recalled. Earlier this year, there was a massive recall of Hostess Ding Dongs due to a mold issue.
