Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and to make sure every family in the Magic Valley can have a nice Thanksgiving meal, 60 Hours to Fight Hunger is happening this week to gather donations of food and money.

Looking to Donate a Turkey? Idaho’s 60 Hours to Fight Hunger is the Place

The holiday season gives people a variety of reasons to be thankful. Maybe you are thankful that you have the ability to help others, and maybe you are thankful that there are people with the heart to help you. This event is for all.

The 60 Hours to Fight Hunger is an annual event in the Magic Valley to gather food and money donations. With that food and money, South Central Community Action Partnership organizes food boxes for those in need during the holiday. The food drive is this week, November 20th through 22nd, 2025. There will be a few locations where you can drop off donations.

The Easiest Way to Help Idaho Families in Need This Holiday Season

The main drop-off location will be at Rob Green GMC on Blue Lakes Blvd. in Twin Falls beginning at noon on the 20th. Donations of money can also be made online at the SCCAP website. Then on Saturday, there will be a special donation location at Smith’s on Addison Ave. in Twin Falls - which is perfect because you can shop and donate in the same place.

The food boxes will then be organized and distributed to families across the Magic Valley on November 24th and 25th.

Last year, 2,233 turkeys were donated during the event, and this year the goal is 2,400 turkeys. If you can’t donate a turkey, consider donating a non-perishable food item or money. There are a lot of people struggling this year, and a lot of people are stepping up to help. On the SCCAP Facebook page, you can see some of the recent donations of food and money provided by Right Now Heating & Air and the Twin Falls Community Re-Entry Center.
