Over the weekend, the Idaho State Police reported two serious accidents. A motorcycle rider was killed in a crash with a Jeep near Burley, and a semi-truck rollover in Jerome blocked lanes of traffic for multiple hours.

The driver of the semi-truck, a 26-year-old male from Washington, was not wearing a seatbelt but didn’t report any injuries from the rollover.

Fatal Motorcycle vs Jeep Accident Update in Southern Idaho in Burley

The Idaho State Police reported a fatal accident on a road in Burley on Friday night. The crash involved a Jeep and a motorcycle at 10:21 PM at 1033 W Bedke Blvd.

A 2015 Kawasaki motorcycle driven by a 59-year-old man from Heyburn, Idaho, was traveling northbound on Bedke Blvd.

A 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 33-year-old man from Burley, Idaho, was traveling southbound on Bedke Blvd.

The report says the motorcycle crossed the center line and struck the Jeep head-on.

The driver of the Jeep was wearing a seatbelt and reported minor injuries but was not transported to a hospital.

The motorcycle rider was wearing a helmet and passed away at the scene of the crash.

This was the second fatal motorcycle vs Jeep accident the ISP reported that day.

The fatal crash near Bear Lake happened less than 12 hours earlier, at 11:22 AM, as a motorcycle and a Jeep were travelling in opposite directions along Minnetonka Cave Road. The vehicles collided head-on, killing the bike rider.

There have now been 12 fatal motorcycle accidents reported by the Idaho State Police during the 100 Deadliest Days of Summer this year, down from the 16 that happened in 2024. The accidents are being investigated by ISP.
