Idaho Highway Partially Closed For 13 Hours After Driver Hit By Vehicle
Over the weekend, the Idaho State Police responded to an accident in Southern Idaho on Interstate 84 between Boise and Mountain Home where a person was hit by a vehicle.
The accident is still being investigated, and the ISP didn’t share a lot of information in the news release, but what we do know is detailed below.
Southern Idaho Highway Partially Closed For 13 Hours Over the Weekend Due to Accident
The accident happened on Saturday evening, June 27th, on I84 near mile marker 67. The Idaho State Police report states that the accident happened at 10:25 PM. Many people heading home from the Boise Music Fest to cities south of Boise probably saw the line of emergency lights, first responder vehicles, and the line of vehicles as it began backing up in the westbound lanes approaching the weigh station.
My family was heading home that night from the festival and saw the response as we drove by in the eastbound lanes towards Twin Falls. The ISP report shared the initial investigation report in a news release:
A vehicle was pulled over on the westbound side of I84. The driver exited the vehicle and was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on I84.
The report says the westbound lanes were closed for around 13 hours while the first responders assisted at the scene. Idaho State Police is investigating the accident.
The report does not say what types of vehicles were involved in the incident or whether the pedestrian driver was killed in the accident or taken to a local hospital for medical care. There are also no updates on ISP or ITD social media pages regarding the accident.
