Idaho State Police Investigating Pedestrian vs Pickup Truck Accident Near Twin Falls, Idaho

The Idaho State Police reported two serious accidents in Southern Idaho highways on Wednesday.

In one accident a pedestrian was hit by a pickup truck and the other involved a wrong-way driver who hit another vehicle head-on. Both accidents resulted in serious injuries. The police reports are detailed below.

Pedestrian Hit by Pickup Truck While Crossing Highway Near Twin Falls

On Wednesday morning, August 26th around 5:30 AM, a pedestrian was hit by a pickup truck while crossing Highway 30/Addison Ave W, west of Twin Falls.

• A 42-year-old male, from Filer, was walking across the roadway on US30 near mile marker 213.
• A 44-year-old male, from Twin Falls, driving a 1993 Chevrolet pickup, was traveling eastbound on US30.

The pedestrian was hit by the pickup and transported by air ambulance to the local hospital. No other details were shared about the condition of the pedestrian.

Wrong Way Driver on Southern Idaho Highway Causes Serious Injury Crash

On Wednesday evening, August 26th around 9:45 PM, two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision on SH24 at mile marker 3, near Rupert.

• A 47-year-old male, from Rupert, driving a 2014 Subaru Legacy, was driving the wrong way on State Highway 24, northbound in the southbound lanes.
• A 40-year-old male, from Burley, driving a 2017 Hyundai Elantra, was traveling southbound on the interstate.

The vehicles collided head-on. Both drivers were wearing seat belts but the driver of the Hyundai required medical care and transport by air ambulance and the driver of the Subaru was taken by ground ambulance to the hospital.
