Fun: Kayak and Paddleboard Races are Coming to Twin Falls
I was driving through Downtown Twin Falls by the archway at the city park and saw a sign for an upcoming event. I was so excited at what I had seen that I did a loop around the park so that my kid could take a picture of the information.
Twin Falls Snake, Paddle, and Roll Kayak Race
The LED sign on the archway was advertising an upcoming kayak race event on the Snake River. The Snake, Paddle, and Roll kayak racing event will happen on Saturday, August 27th at Centennial Waterfront Park. Registration begins at 7 AM at the event and you can register early online. Races begin at 8 and the fun afterparty starts at 9.
Remember to follow the signs at Centennial Park to avoid issues.
20 Signs You're Probably Ignoring At Centennial Park
If you choose to participate in the Snake, Paddle, and Roll event you will be helping raise funds for the upkeep and creation of Southern Idaho trails. There are 6 race categories and registration is $35 for each.
Snake Paddle and Roll Event Categories
The event is not just for kayaks and it doesn’t have to be a race. There is a paddleboard category for the races and a fun category for kayaks and paddleboards. All race categories are 2 miles long from Centennial park to the Perrine Bridge and back to the park with the exception of the 4-mile kayak race. The whole event will have a rock and roll theme including a party, food, and costumes. Awards will be given to men, women, and children.
What Is Southern Idaho Legacy Trails
Registration proceeds from the event will benefit the Southern Idaho Legacy Trails group. According to the group's Facebook page, their mission is to build trails in Southern Idaho where people can safely adventure.
