More Info On Murtaugh Man Killed In Snowmobile Accident
We know a little more today about the Murtaugh man killed in a snowmobile accident over the weekend. The Cassia County Sheriff’s department says 35 year old Jose Alcala died Saturday after he crashed into a tree a while snowmobiling in the South Hills.
The sheriff’s report said Alcala failed to make a turn on the snowmobile trail and crashed into a tree near Father and Son campground in southwest Cassia County. The accident was reported just before 4 p.m. Saturday. The report indicated that Alcala was traveling at about 50 mph, when his sled started to lean to the left. Alcala hit a tree on his right side, while the snowmobile struck another tree. Alcala died at the scene after suffering massive internal injuries as well as injuries to his hip and leg.
