Mormons Gather For Semi-Annual Conference
Faithful Mormons gathered to hear words of inspiration from their leaders over the weekend during their church's semiannual general conference. The two-day conference drew more than 100,000 to the four-block downtown Salt Lake City campus of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The event comes just days before the church marks its 181st anniversary on April 6. On Saturday, church President Thomas Monson announced plans to build new temples in Colorado, Idaho and Canada. Church leaders also released new statistical data which shows the religion has grown to include 14.1 million members worldwide.
