New Restaurant in Twin Falls Offers Mexican Hot Dogs

Sonora Restaurant just opened on Friday in Twin Falls. Sonora's is a little different than a traditional Mexican Restaurant. Their business is based around hot dogs. Yup, Mexican Hot Dogs! Sonoran-style hot dogs are a hugely popular street food in Sonora. Often called Mexican hot dogs.

Sonora’s Macho Dog is the quintessential 10-inch frank. It’s American-made but flies a different flag coming out of the kitchen. It’s covered with bacon, cheese, beans, jalapenos, fried onions, tomatoes, lettuce, mayonnaise and ketchup.

Sonora Restaurant also serves quesadillas, hand-rolled flautas and and scratch-made tamales, but they’re sides on the menu.

Combo meals come with fries and a drink and are priced from $4.75 to $7.50. The dessert menu includes fried ice cream.

Sonora Restaurant is located in the old Zulu's building on Washington and is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
