Oakley Man Dies In Accident Near Pocatello

An Oakley man is dead after he was struck and killed after he attempted to run across Interstate 86 Saturday night. It happened around 10 p.m. near the Bannock Peak Truck Stop. Idaho State Police say a 2003 Chevrolet S10 pickup was pulled over on the right shoulder on westbound Interstate 86 at milepost 52. The pickup was occupied by 22 year old Ismael Ochoa of Oakley and three other men from the Burley area.  A disagreement broke out among the passengers and they left the vehicle.  Ochoa attempted to run across the Interstate and was struck by a pickup driven by 45 year old Chad Surrage  of Heyburn. Ochoa was pronounced dead at the scene.  No one else was injured and the crash is under investigation.
