Officials Expect Fewer Cases of West Nile in the Magic Valley
TWIN FALLS, Id. ( KMVT/KSVT ) It's looking like we're going to see fewer cases of West Nile virus in the Magic Valley this summer.
Mosquito traps tested negative for the virus this week. You may remember that last week the Twin Falls County Pest Abatement District had a few traps test positive. The Manager of the Abatement District., Kirk Tubbs, says they made sure to resample areas that tested positive last week.
Tubbs cautions that mosquitoes are still out there and will be around until the first frost. Even though they're trapping, testing and treating areas, the public still needs to take standard precautions like wearing bug spray and dumping out sitting water.
