If you think predicting the weather is hard, try predicting wildfires months ahead of time. But, with all of the data they have as of now, the government is predicting that Southern Idaho and Northern Nevada are facing a high likely likelihood of dangerous wildfires late this summer.

They are currently pointing to July and August as the most likely time when we could be seeing significant wildfire possibilities. Yes, there are so many variables that could change this between now and late summer including getting more precipitation than expected, etc.

Factors that affect this that are causing them concern include the drought in the western US, effects of El Nino going along with regular fire season conditions.

It is highly recommended that you check out the full report from the Feds and stay in touch with updates as we get further into the summer. Considering the fact that our area is completely red on the map above means we all need to pay special attention to this.
