TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — The wife of a southern Idaho lawmaker who was injured in an explosion at their home has been released from a Salt Lake City hospital but is still undergoing treatment for burns. Amy Wood, the wife of Rep. Fred Wood, suffered second-degree burns on her arms and neck in the Sept. 29 blast at their home in Burley. Fred Wood told the Times News his wife was discharged last week. He says her right arm has completely healed, though areas that received skin grafts are still healing. The blast originated in an underground gun safe room — directly below the patio where Amy Wood was standing. Authorities are still investigating, but they suggested it was likely caused by the spontaneous combustion of oil rags left in the gun room.
