Swarm of Small Quakes Reported North of Twin Falls
We share earthquakes with you all the time. Most are small quakes near Yellowstone, since that's more or less normal there. But, did you know that there have been a swarm of quakes north of Twin Falls over the last two weeks?
These are not quakes you would see by looking at the normal USGS website. They normally don't report quakes that register lower than a 2.5. But, if you check out the earthquake map from the University of Utah, you see a completely different picture. In the past 2 weeks, there have been around 7 earthquakes north of Twin Falls. They range from a 2.0 north of Challis on January 21 to a 3.3 north of Idaho Falls on January 22.
It's not like quakes of this size are a big deal, but it makes you wonder if we may see a major event like we saw when the mammoth 6.9 quake hit in 1983 near Borah Peak.
